This poem asks a series of questions.
What choices will people make .
Will they choose toexperience the beauty and serenity of what the Earth has to give,
Or will they suffer from the alternative ways of seeing
which is also real.
The title unholy glimpses tells me that the writer catches glimpses of the negative
. They are holy inthat the bad ones do not lift us up
. They tear us down.
The same things like silver cluds can be seen as carryingrain
and tears,
or they can be seen as the giver of flowers.
Flowers that bloom after a night of pollination can be interpreted as opportunitieslost,
Such as belonging,
and be the cause of sadness.
They can hear the wind blowing
and hear the quiet of the day,
or can be overwhelmed by noise.
The noise itself can be heard as quiet sounds of theneighborhood, or a bluster of soundsdenoting one more boring day.
One can contemplate the pictures made in clouds to display the borinness of the day.

Unholy Glimpses
Across the morning sky
light and color paint
questions with no set answers.
How will the human folk be this day?
Will they acknowledge the beaming sun,
grumble at the silver rain
bathing the earth so thirsty for nurture?
Shall they give themselves a gift of quiet
or dance to the torrant of noise:
cel phones,
radio/Tv
laptop and AI intrusions?
In the drowned-out wind sound:
babies cry
dogs bark
cats survey their territory
as the sun climbs higher.
Flowers bloom after nights of volent exchange,
physical reminders of lost belonging--
children shiver from lack of
unfound security.
Earth shares her green and gold,
sky, her pudgy cloud-pictures
for those blessed enough to see them
amid the calamity of grand boredom.
