This piece is one of the most difficult  ones to understand for me.

I’ll go through it line by line and try to get meaning from it.

Remembering

by Joan Myles

The red shimmer of remembering will compel you up the night towalk the perimeter of truth for understanding

–Joy Harjo

With one heart we say never forget

And with its beating we say remember

I’m forced to give a meaning to never forgetting  that doesn’t usually appeal or appear to mean

what it might mean in this context of saying it is the same as remembering.

It wouldn’t seem that the two are different, in some way if I don’t do this.

Not forgetting is used often to say we will never   forget the evils man is capable.of.

Remembering, is simply the act of recalling without judging.

We recall good and bad things.

Because guarding and remembering are one

Because the Tree of Life and the forest are one

This is simply stating a fact.

Because the circle we dance declares the earth’s circle

I think   the  circle we dance means both literally dancing,as in the hora,

or the things we occupy our minds and  bodies in define the world as it appears tous,

or what we considerImportant.

Because the verses we chant name the wind

What we pray, or chant , or think about has a real effect  on the world.

Because every hue of every creature shimmers with remembering

All that has happened to every creature  is written in the akashic records

Because  remembering is the human heart beating

Because  with one heart we say never forget

It is impossible to forget.

Because all that has happened is influenced by what has happenedand will happen.
