I love the analogous relationship of impending retirement to a space craftre-entering the world’s atmosphere . 

The slowing down has to be done just right,  

as the angle of re-entry   could be disastrous.  

Will  yousurvive and successfully   rejoinlife  at a slower rate of activityand   commitment  than you are used to.

The Celestial Mechanics of Retirement

As I begin to initiate

a process of powerful deceleration,

overdriven at least 70% of my lifetime

it is like a spacecraft returning.

Penetrating the atmosphere at near escapevelocity,

actively seeking recovery.

 

A luminous conflagration of channeled heat

alight, slowly wearing away my ablation shield.

I must maintain the correct angle

or burn!

 

Achieving the desired speed is a precise 

and unfamiliar operation.

Acquiring and maintaining such,

enables the exact vector for

the Navigation of this new

relative glide path through

the Vast and myriad opportunities retirement mayafford. 

I am ready!
