Joan’s comments for April 2021
Leonard: Garden Melee
Great title.
The piece demonstrates the author’s rich experience and understanding of
plant behavior.
Informative and entertaining.
the writing drew me in and kept me reading.
Learning about plant behavior in this context is fascinating!
I watched the rug’s demise...confusing lingo to me.
Rhizome is a great Scrabble word, thanks!
Alice: Silver Dreams from a Gazebo
Beautiful title. I think of the gazebo bathed in moonlight.
gob pil...picturesque and meaningful
pink gazebo...I can see it
leaves fall like memories..wonderful switch
Looking back in time across the four directions is wonderful point of view.
This place is your center.
The lamb is a sweet ending--innocence and childhood still visit the place.
Val: Womanchild
portrait of personality with universal apllication
misintuition...interesting wording
self-centered as brilliance of sun...wonderful word choice; the sun burns
without concern
Brad: The Source
This feels like a quest inward.
Love the first stanza, draws me in
the language is exquisite
the spring suggests Spirit to me; it is the source
the azure stones echo of Biblical images of God with the stones beneath his
feet
Second stanza is great twist of focus
belief is as crucial as action...oh yes! Action is embodiment of belief
