Dear Friends,
Here is my October offering. I look forward, as always, to your thoughtful
remarks.

Life is rhythm
The sea in its way
Dances in moonlight
Wild with motion
The urge to move
The sea eases itself and all it brings
Forward then back
To where I stand watching
Where I chase the wind along the shore
And drop down into crystals of unformed glass
The sea weaves ancient melodies
Past consciousness into my veins
And sweeps me into its rhythm of life
To become my life
2
And this prayer
Fashioned and lived by our sages
A talisman and a hope
This prayer has a rhythm
Its pulse urges me forward and back
Its ageless tide
Is a prism of mystic moonlight
a mirror to my faltering steps
To unexpected bursts of dawn
Yitgadal v’yitkadash
Great and holy
and always moving
3
Life’s rhythm gathers us
Birthing and burying we come together
Dancing and dreaming we come together
Our children grow and move away and return
And we’re still celebrating
Still coming together
Still feeling the flow of our lives as one
One great and holy Life
Yitgadal v’yitkadash shemay rabba
In your abundant name
