The impression I get is of waking up in themorning

with a wonderful connection  to the world around.

I wonder, if this is the way the writerawakens  evrey morning, or some mornings. The poem says it doesn’t really matter what is going on,

it is still a wonderful day.

It requires opening one’s eyes to be aware of it.

The beauty is in the heart of the awakened one.

So this is a spiritual message.

The piece is a spiritual affirmation.

It says that if you wake up with a spirit ofgratitude, you will be self awakened.

A Beautiful Day

by Joan Myles

tip yourinvisible  hat

to the morningbecause

it's a beautifulday

I  love thesymbol of the invisible hat.

Tipping it is the old fashioned way ofrecognizing  someone in the spirit ofappreciation and love as you pass them on the street.

This is doing the same for the day,

and just because it is a day.

no matter thelevel of sunshine

the fluff orflutter of clouds

the delugeoutside your umbrella

This speaks of one’s independence from circumstance.

It speaks of an inner connection to the beautyeverywhere.

your eyes opened

and consciousnessreturned

This speaks of the true nature of awakening.

and maybe youeven heard something

Interesting, powerful , thoughtful use of the word‘Maybe.

’  Maybethere was something in the day or world that triggered the awakening.  That’s good too.  But one has to be ready to hear or perceive itfor it to have that triggering effect.

a car going downthe road

or a train in thedistance

or if you werelucky

a bird or a dog

something withbreath and song

a voice callingout to you

Life is always calling out in many voices.

Particularly wonderful  are the sounds of living breathing  entities.

as Life calls outto each of us

saying: HereI  Am

And you?

 This last line is fascinating.

It asks questions,

yet It also is a challenge.

Life calls out to you,  are you ready to hear it?

Are you ready to call out to life?
