Yep, that’s the cat’s life.Of course, his main job is to make sure his human keeps him fed, cleans out hislitter box, gives him massages when he wants them, and all the other detailedtasks of a slave. That way  he has thelife of a landed lord.  Nice work if youcan get it.

 


Diligence

Blue-gray cat awakens.
He yawns,
s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-s.
He takes in life

around him,
begins the task
fastidious cleaning--
sleek body, ears, face--

readying himself
for the next hours
until, after food and prowl,
another nap beckons.
