I’m ashamed to admit that I didn’t become instantly aware of this piece as a great spoof. You’ve taught a lesson by demonstrating the mistakes writers can make by committing them as you talked about them. Wonderful.

I did ask 2 questions before the light bulb went off. I’m keeping them as part of my comments.

Marcia J. Wick, The Write Sisters

August 2018

Word Count:  519

So, you really, really kind of need to clean up your writing. I ask you to be willing to try to cut those overused and meaningless words, but where to begin?

Use a fine tooth comb to eliminate clichés each and every time the light shines on something like what you could reduce. Take out and remove phrases that trip up your readers, making for a bumpy and uneven ride.

Oftentimes, you can search and find every last one of all the ways that you use words just like “just,” “like,” and “that,” then delete them a lot. It’s a pretty good idea to tighten your writing. Virtually everyone’s writing could benefit from some surgery. I believe that

·        Are you advocating eliminating all of those words, or ‘just to using them sparingly?

up to as many as you might think can possibly improve their writing with fewer words. - I am very certain that currently there are actually more than most believe.

In order to start to identify all the unnecessary words, you’ll presently see gradually and effortlessly how to cut down on the unusually high number of I ncredibly useless adverbs cluttering literally every sentence to improve clarity.

·        This is a confusing sentence to me.. Are you saying that the writer is using too many adverbs to clarify  their work; or do you mean eliminating a lot of those words would , by their elimination, clarify the writing?

Therefore, you’ll suddenly start to see bad repetitions and redundancies such as can often be found throughout an overly complex annual report published yearly, a suggested proposal generally intended for future prospects, or a great overview of the findings and conclusions of an inclusively and clearly-defined group of collaboratively organized organizations. As an added bonus, for each and every

·        Okay, you got me. This whole piece is a parody. The above paragraph is completely , entirely, just very, very unintelligible. I couldn’t make  hardly any comprehensible sense out of any of it; ot even a teeny weeny bit.

eader under the stars, your writing might eventually become completely devoid of unneeded extra words because of some things you could be doing.

·        Below, don’t you mean, a of yet?’

As yet, we won’t know the final outcome until each and every word has been counted and tallied, and the document is almost completely free of pointless modifiers and pronouns. As a matter of fact, you can cut from one or every paragraph. Be sure to make a Duplicate copy of your work before editing and definitely prior to cutting and pasting.

Because proofing and editing is hard work, you might find you need to take a long overdue break for a late night midnight snack. It’s the truth, honestly, that everyone’s writing and yours will improve and get nicer and better over time. At all times, because of the increasingly high number of mistakes writers may make on any given day, it is best to tighten, tighten, tighten your work like a belt when you are dieting.

We don’t know as yet whether we’ll succeed. Basically, in order to identify which words are totally useless, it’s essential to completely go over each and every word from top to bottom. It’s quite natural to not know where to begin. You’ll absolutely feel that it’s rather helpful and extremely important to simply not to use one particular word too often. It’s just pretty important that you cut and delete each occurrence almost always. Being that you just don’t need most words, in the process of identifying what you don’t need, you’ll write what you want at this point. As a matter of fact, your skills will most likely improve, for all intents and purposes.
