This is an extremely powerful poem.  



It is one of your best works. 



It shines and speaks of a truth that we willhave to embrace if we are to survive.




 



It is not beyond us

Light shimmers like divine breath.




 


Love shimmers with divinity.  



For many this light is  frightening.




 


Giving birth to deeply berried



Fragile, precious gentleness within.




 


That light can make us aware of  the gentle fragile quality inside.  



Vulnerability is one way of saying that.




 



 


That many can not bear to look upon



undone by shattering tenderness



or blinded by compassion's shining countenance.



It is scary for us to know that it is there. 



If not frightened by it, that quality opens usup to feelings which are painful to encounter. Especially if we haven’t doneso  habitualy.




 



 


Yet it is this we must embrace



before the fire of our being



fades to embers.




 


Yet we must own  these feelings before it istoo late. 



Before we die. 



Or, before it turns to embers and falls away, 



rather than blooming into something beyond our present state. 



We must transcend or perish.




 


Only to collapse and



    fall to formless ash.
