This is a heart wrenching piece ofalmost hopelessness.

But You hang on to the image ofsalvation lying in an open space high above the darkness. Clutched in torment is unbelievably powerful.

Thickest dark gives dimension todespair.

The verse which has  pennies gwisting away down drains,

taking with  it purpose ,

is unforgettable.

But you have found healing beforeabove the  darkness

and you have the faith to reach forit again.

And again.

Broken

Broken--
heart and spirit--
plunged in torment
deeper than thickest
dark.

Loss--
purpose and meaning--
tumble like pennies
down drains that
twist out of sight.

Far, far above,
there must be
bright hope, light--
I reach for it,
again and again,
believing it's where
healing waits
anew
All the darkness in the world cannot extinguishthe light of one candle.
