*Poetry Confetti*

At the window of my writer’s garret,

I twirl and toss outside

handfuls of poetry confetti.

Can you feel it in the air?

In my crafty kitchen,

I prepared spaghetti a la poetry.

So, welcome, welcome. Please have a chair.

We will pass the relish tray of rhyme;

or try a course of free verse, if you prefer.

Our toast will be with wine

from only the finest poetry vines.

Now that the poetry table is set

and so many poets have thankfully gathered ‘round,

the poetic dinner bell rings

to let me know the time has come

for me to sit back, enjoy, and learn

because, my poet friends,

the next presentation is your turn.
