There are so many  instructions,

advice, and other means of knowing what is true.

We don’t know what is the best,

or even which is true.

They are  difficult tofollow.

They can’t be  discerned.

The writer  knowsthat  her souls path  is lit by  grace  which is real.

It is a long, winding path, but surpasses all the fluff.

Just the same, she may take the longest path.

A humorous ending.

I think  this writerhas the capacity of endless faith,

managing to be convinced of the rightness of her path,

but at the same time ask, “Whyh does it seem so long andpainful.”

Directions

So many directions,

where to go,

what to trust,

whom to believe.

Theories and asessments

swirl like sand in

a Dust Devil

of ragged conclusions.

Here is the unpaved, narrow path

curling between dark woods

with a rushing river singing

a jagged lullabye.

This path of my soul-spirit

is lit with grace beyond

calamity, fear and grief.

Even so, I may take the longest way through.
