This poem reminds us that  the world presents an invitation every morningand every night 

to seekour gifts.  

That hasa double meaning. 

It meanswe have capacities we have yet to discover 

and weare given the gifts of lifethat we take for granted. 

It is areminder to be thankfl and to continue to plumb  our innerresources.  

It isnot for the reader to assume it is only a singular reminder for them, but forall the earth  people in it. 

There isalways light somewhere. 

When theSun goes down, the moon comes up, and when there is no son or moon, there arethe stars, 

even ifwe can’t see them for the moment.

 

 

Sun Rise

 

Sun,

like Heavenlypromise,

light the faceof earth

with all whodwell there.

 

Through dawn 

to descendingdark,

let yourradiance bid farewell

as moon comesin silvery height.

 

Sun and moon, 

gleam throughsky, cloud and dark,

remind us nowto seek your gifts,

hope,rezilliance, love.

Live and hopein the Lord and let your service be according to reason.
