Please accept my appologies for the previous e mail. I got my computers mixed up.
Brad
This is perfect. In its expression.
It clearly describes what Trump andhis ilk are creating in order to serve their own need for power.
Though, I believe it is still ableto discern truth from lies most of the time.
It becomes particularly difficultwhen lies are mixed with truth.
The disturbing thing is that so manyare willing to put principle below political gain. Hypocracy is perhaps worse than the lies.
Yet we still are able to see the flicker of truth, andappreciate it.
We just can’t grasp it.
I’m not too sure that the decentinto this state we find ourselves in was so gradual.
It was always there.
That’s why we have to be sovigilent.
I think it will always be so.
I just hope we can stop this trendin its tracks.
But it will be waiting to get just alittle encouragement to threaten us again.
The Worst of it All was the Lies
C By Brad Corallo
Word count 179
During a long gradual downwardretreat,
truth transformed into Mercury.
Allusive and almost
Impossible to catch or clasp.
Yet, still beautiful in its fluid, silvery perfection.
Hypocrisy, dissembling, alternativefacts and outright lies
all are grist for the worldpropaganda mill.
I find myself growing weary
as the ground beneath my feet
disappears once again.
The old representations of suretyare now
at best pale and without conviction.
An old ragged beggar
throws himself on the altar's stepsand desperately entreats
"Someone, please tell me, whatcan I believe in?"
His only answer is resoundingsilence.
Two looming questions overshadow
all our slowly darkening days:
"what are we becoming?"
"what have we alreadybecome?"
Though the answers may not bepretty,
the spin doctors will perform theirinsidious surgery.
Will we have the slightest clue then
if and where truth and hope,
still abide?
