12-17-20 Group 2 Session
1. Alice's piece:
Well, far better donkeys than elephants. I bet Mary-Jo Lord would have
gotten a laugh out of this one. I fortunately have no one currently in the
armed forces. This poignant sentimental piece seems to capture the emotional
state of someone who does have such in this season.
2. Leonard's Piece:
Well, how about a collar with a gold plaque honoring his many years of
service? I realize that gold watches are traditional but one should never
discriminate against one of the few dogs that can't tell time. How can you
go wrong with the combination of Leonard's whimsical story telling and a
very cool and dedicated canine? "Our home will be invaded by creatures. As I
have already pointed---, he is 12 plus years old now" add out where the
dashes are.
3. Valerie's Piece:
I am sincerely glad that your spiritual beliefs can provide a way, if still
difficult to cope. As winter closes in the feelings you so aptly describe
will roll over many of us. All must find ways to hold tightly onto hope.
Some clever wag said that hope is the last thing to die for when it does
there is nothing else. I keep telling myself: "there are vaccines and the
American people chose to put an end to the travesty of leadership we have
all had to endure for the last 4+ years. Given this, I will keep the flame
of hope burning and that kindness, compassion and love cannot ever be
completely vanquished.
4. Joan's Piece:
Another fascinating short and enigmatic Joan piece. I believe this one is
about the inadequacy of words to communicate true states of the heart
between humans who are striving to understand one another.
