Silence holds empty promise
when my heart is trembling,
fragile as fancy glass.

At these times, I look in to the mirror of my soul--
a spiritual inventory.

I find shelves bare, others crammed with rotting boxes,
condensation of pain unchallenged.

I reach, move crumbling pretence of letting go
never completed.

Wilderness of silence holds sterdy promises
as I weep, ponder, search through
griefwork yet to touch.

there's more room in a broken heart...
