DeAnna sub for July 21

I love this poem, but have some questions.

A creative lavender Otter.

Ithink  otters are fun loving. Maybe   lavender means unconventional. I’venever  seen a lavender one.

Coset shy?

Maybe you don’e  like closets because theyhold clothing you can not see and don’t know if they color coordinate.

Or maybe you don’t care what’s in closets.

I AM

By DeAnna Quietwater Noriega

I am closet shy,

What  iscloset shy

Purpoe eagle? A high  flying eagle. Why  purple. Maybe because purple is reserved for

Royalty.

A creative lavender otter,

Why an otter?

A voice for equality and justice,

A gentle chime in the storm.

Determined to be a purple eagle,

Why purple

Soaring high over Pikes Peak in the sunshine.

*******

A protective magic circle.

That expands ultimately to all man kind.

Can your magic protect the whole country?

>From periods of darkness, like the plague?

Who’s to say what the limit of love is?

Distance

By DeAnna Quietwater Noriega

When my children were small, I tucked them intobed each night

I drew a magic circle around their beds, to keepthem safe from all harm while they slept.

They believed that a mother’s love was strongmagic.

I still draw magic circles around those I loveeach night.

Now, they enclose friends and family fromKentucky to California, from Connecticut to Washington state.

My circles loop and stretch to cover distance, and I pray they will hold back the evils prowling this time of darkness.
