Another World

Our needs on hold.
Will it be ok?
elective surgeries must wait.
No kidney transplants, now.
Too much risk.
No knee replacements.
Too much risk.
Do I have cancer?
Can we remove the tumor?
You must wait. 
Too much risk.

No toilet paper.
Who cares.
Use old socks. 
Telephone books work well, some say.
Just don't flush them.
Put it in a bag, and throw it away.

She lives in another world.
Where All is well.
Nothing to worry about.
abortions are assential.
She'll see that it's approved.
She is stressed--
Needs a couple of weeks off to recharge.
The crisis can wait.
she speeds to her ivory tower.
Her commercial freezer of ice cream awaits.

The arts and music must be funded.
They are more important than small business and those lazy workers.
All is well. Nothing to worry about.
Except that idiot in the white house.
Her goal to discredit and remove him.

People search the empty shelves for basic needs.
Small business owners watch their livelihood crumble.
Laid off workers wonder how they will pay their bills.
She has no worries. 
She has ice cream.
"If they don't have ice cream," says she,  "let them Eat frozen yogurt.
