Lessons My Mother Taught me

By DeAnna Quietwater Noriega

When your heart is full of song,

Sing and share your joy with others.

Why should you be still when you are in pain?

When you are in pain—be still.

Tell God—he’ll know what to do.

Anyone can make mistakes.

Laughing at yourself beats crying.

Sometimes a good cry is what you need.

Don’t waste time complaining,

Get busy solving your problems.

Sometimes love means forgiving,

It only hurts more if you can’t.

I like this one the best.

Actions speak louder than words.

Be honest even when no one knows.

I love this one.

There is always enough love,

If you keep giving it away.

I love this one too.

Thank you mom for the lessons,

You taught me by your example.
