Here is my poem for next week's session. I'll also attach the word document.

You describe me as the young lady in the bright red dress.
My coworker wonders
who in our office you
could have talked with.

 

I am not young, but would
like to be, am a woman,
could never be a lady.
I love the color red, but
don't wear dresses.

 

So when you referred to me,
a middle aged woman in a

pink summer pantsuit as
"the young lady in the bright red dress,"
leaving out all of the other ways I could have been identified,

You managed to make me the one thing that I am
not and would often like to be,
