I'm also a native speaker. I'll admit that the pronunciation is not
that bad, but the sound quality really irritates me. Of the ten voices,
maybe three are OK, and even they are annoyingly rough and
oddly-pitched. I'm sure that, when compared to the other options of the
era, they probably sounded quite good, but I don't think they've really
survived the test of better hardware and software.
To Blake, yes, the voices for English are the ones in the
English-only package.
To Jake, I am planning to upload this to the archive, as it's an
interesting and relevant package. Is there something I should keep in
mind while doing so? Thanks for finding it, by the way.
