Two things:
TTSynth was eloquence, at least from everything I've read.
Eloquence is, as far as I know, still usable on linux if you install
voxin. Unfortunately, this is a paid product, so many do not have this.
I just stick to eSpeak when I am running linux. I would also recommend
ekho if you also speak Chinese or Korean.
