Hmmm.
I must say at this point that its rumoured that record companies
release stuff on the net so people can download the stuff and if they
like it buy a cd.
If I download mp3s of a band and like say 6 tracks of say a whole cd
then I am going to want to buy that cd.
Most other stuff either i have brought or got given or simply coppied
off friends and family.
This is not just for my listening pleasure, because if they get a
dammaged cd I can make another.
Free is always good, but I will buy stuff if its next to nothing to.
As long as its not to expensive that is.
Software on the other hand is different.
True, around 99% of software I have is free.
except for the screenreaders, and windows which I brought everything is free.
I have a version of office 2003 which I was given.
I have acrobat and soundforge, which are not free hence the 1% non freeware.
Saying this I will buy into something if its cheap enough.
There is loads of freeware and opensource stuff out there.
If you manage your system right, windows, office and whatever reader
you use are all you will need.
Either get freeware, or shareware that does not expire, true you get
a few nag screens.
If software you have has a lite mode and you like use it.
If something is addware (note not has addware) and that does not
effect anything then go for it.
