Broken

Broken--
heart and spirit--
plunged in torment
deeper than thickest 
dark.

Loss--
purpose and meaning--
tumble like pennies
down drains that 
twist out of sight.

Far, far above,
there must be 
bright hope, light--
I reach for it,
again and again,
believing it's where
healing waits
anew
