5-27-21 Group II Critiques

1. Leonard's piece:

I don't even know where to start. This was a most entertaining and odd
piece. The dialogue is superb. I might ask: "Leonard, how long have you been
seeing and speaking with strange little creatures? You know there are pills
for that?" Well, all I can say is, in regard to Leonard: "To gnome, is to
love him!"

2. Valerie's piece:

I must admit to being unsure about this one's meaning. I looked up a list of
recently deceased musicians and didn't find anyone that I thought would fit.
It then occurred to me that Bob Dylan is turning 80 on 5-24-21 and may have
announced the last leg of "The Never Ending Tour" coming up in fall 2021.
Otherwise, I am clueless. Fairwell should be "Farewell."

3. Alice's piece:

I thought I saw this one in this year's NPM offerings. It is whimsical and
clever. It brought to mind the poem about "Poetry Land" or whatever the
title was. The one where you could get a poetic license.

4. Joan's piece:

A beautifully constructed poem. It seems to be about leaving, moving on, etc
. Perhaps a child or even the last child moving out. "empty nesting." It
captures the sad, wistful, poignant even slightly mournful feeling as loved
ones move on and the page turns on another chapter.
