Looking forward to our next poetic discussion, dear ones!

A SPoon in the Heart
by Joan Myles
whose phantoms crowding dark and deep
disguised as visions in my sleep
Incite these warring wailing screams
Pursuing me through waking dreams
His cunning ways forever bend
Misfortune’s hand toward foe and friend
And never mind if sage or fool
His equity is ever cruel
illusion-maker sets his mark
Dispatching woe to each man’s heart
In every land beneath the moon
And hides the dagger in a spoon
