Subject: Leonard's comments on Joan's sub

This is a clarion call for humans to pay attention.

To become stewards instead of users.

The ecology is falling apart.

We have been warned, but we have not heard.

Will there  be onlytears to  answer our greed andnegligence?

This is an extremely powerful  poem.

Who is Julian.

Joans sub for august 21

Julian's Prophecy

by Joan Myles

the angels were right he said

the world would be better off

without humans

his words echoed through the sanctuary

a mere youth we smiled

he will learn

and the years rolled by

and the forests burned

and the sky withheld its blessings

rain and snow and dew

the birds fell silent

and the air crackled with heat

the boy was right we wept

but there was only dust

where our eyes should have been
