Wow! Such an intense and powerful piece. A genuinely tragic story told with
vivid precision. Such words and actions are so destructive to a child who
naturally seeks support as they define their identity. However, as I am sure
you have learned, he couldn't have been more wrong.

Joan's piece: 

Rain, words and happiness come in many forms. Experiencing these, in a
multiplicity of ways as life flows by, and you abide and watch the
bewildering unreeling.

Leonard's piece: 

An accurate and concise summary of American history. I wonder frequently if
the enormous transfer of wealth which began in the 1980s, has completely
destroyed the dream. For once, I will agree with George H.W. Bush: "I want a
kinder, gentler nation." Unfortunately the pendulum has swung, and the
opposite seems to be our path though the rainbow is inevitable. How will it
all play out? The whole situation is tragic and disheartening.

Alice's piece:

A very well constructed essay. Ah leadership skills, this poor old world is
sadly bereft of same. The dichotomy of the Iron Man Violinist is truly
fascinating. And we need more men like Fred Rogers who modeled kindness and
decency; which is in a way another form of leadership. Bravo: Fred and Eric!
