1. Valerie's piece:
Oh, I think she is very much still there! From your word painting I can see
her clearly. And even more so through her "words written on a waiting page."
Actually it would also pass as a good description of me at 17 as well.
Another piece, containing much using an economical selection of words.
Bravo!

2. Joan's piece:
One always needs multiple readings of Joan's work to begin making comments
which hopefully make sense. Though death is a mystery, it is not necessarily
a dark one. We have attached that concept to it. Perhaps we should be
content to allow "the seasons to reveal themselves." The last line is both
fascinating and a bit bewildering. Although perhaps it means something like,
I have just begun to plumb the depths of life's mysteries. A thought
provoking piece to say the least.

3. Leonard's piece:
As I initially commented on 1-16-20 when this piece was sent: "Yes, the
cute, little, charming bastards can get into anything." As I am fond of
pointing out, beauty in no way implies goodness in spite of the contemporary
societal myth. This piece reads like a prose poem or a story with moral, and
some poetic elements.

4. Alice's piece:
So I am trying to write a critique of this wittily clever piece about
critiquing. Here in Group 2, it is obvious that we all have our own unique
styles of writing critiques. All are valid and valuable. Undoubtedly a
parachute is better than a rocket or sledge hammer when delivering feedback.
Of course, on rare occasions, a parachute may fail to open. Then whatever it
is carrying quickly drops plunging toward the ground and possibly shattering
the package on impact. Fortunately such is rare. This is a playful and fun
piece!
