 Trust in Love

God bless the children for their travail.

They are aware of what has hurt them. 

In life they know the bitter blows

that have fallen upon them.


 


She has trusted in love, 

as is her God given right, 

and love she finds not trustworthy.


 


Her father left her alone with mother.  

Her mother was irresponsible,

and in the end Mom abandoned her by

forsaking all rationality, and

leaving her child to the crazy woman she was. 


 


Thus her stage was set to play on.

Finally she found someone,

and her trust was rewarded 

With cheating, lies and leaving.


 


Why not, she was batty as her mom,

something she hid quite well at first. 

But, as she tired of pretending, 

she let her barriers down.

Thus her pattern was established.

Trust not, for they will let you down.


 


They still see each other.

They will try again.

This time there will be counseling. 

Maybe love will win in the end. 

She has finally grown to know 

that each of them has a story.
