Hi Group 2 Friends,
After our last session I tried to email the Donovan song Ferris Wheel to you
all but the attachment had to be approved by the list moderater because of
its size. Alas, this seems to not have happened. I was surprised as I never
had trouble emailing songs in the past. Anyway I have gotten around to
emailing the link. This piece is a significant influence on my poem
"Carnival Fugue." I think it is a beautiful song and am delighted to share
it. Other influences on the piece were: Valerie's and Leonard's discussion
about Coney Island and cotton candy, "Orange Skys" by the band Love and the
title which I borrowed from an instrumental Bach based Jazz fusion piece by
the immortal Dutch band Focus. I am currently rereading "The Autobiography
of Donovan" who in truth is one of my childhood heroes. He may well have
been the first who opened the door for me to poetry and the beauty and power
of words.
Enjoy---Brad
