[Critique Group 2] John has decided he cannot

Hi Group 2,

I thought  John had decided to join us. I am sorry that I was wrong. His explanation is below. We are now open to suggestions as to other candidates. I know other suggestions were already given, but I no longer have a record of them. Please send any suggestions to the group. If you have a connection with any of these people,  let us know if you are willing to contact  them. Otherwise, I will do so and keep you informed.

John has already been put on the group2 mailing list. He will be in receipt of this message. We wish him continued success in all his endeavors. It is with great sorrow that he will not be joining us. . 

A copy of this message will be going to Jay so that  John will be taken off the mailing list

Leonard,

After careful consideration and discussion with my family, I must respectfully decline your invitation to join this group. To be honest, I just don’t have the time to take on this project along with my other responsibilities. 

   -  I work full time,
   - I am an entertainer and perform in various venues including restaurants, retirement homes and private parties.

I am honored that you would ask me to participate in such a group but I simply won’t be able to give it the time and attention it deserves.

With that in mind, I will not respond to the invitation I have recently received.

Hi John,

Below are the steps of how our group process is organized.

Prior to the Critique Session 

   - Write or choose the piece you want to have critiqued. It can be in any genre, though most often this group writes poetry, other writing forms are also presented. Put a word or line count  near the top of the  piece. Try to stay within the BOE prescribed parremeters for length.
   - Submit the piece to the group at least one week before the schedujled meeting.
   - You will be receiving the other group member’s submissions on your e-mail.
   - Write out your critique for each piece. I recommend that you do this on a copy of the piece your critique refers to.  Don’t worry if your comments seem arbitrary. Most critiques are arbitrary in some respects.  It is up to the writer of the submission to use the comments or not.  You’ll find that there are differnces of opinion amongst the critics anyway. There are no parts of any pieces that are above the long arm of the critique process. A general rule of thumb is that we are there to encourage writing, as well as to improve our writing. 
   - After the critique meeting, send your written critique’s to  the critique group via our special group e-mail address. (group2 at bluegrasspals.com)

During  the Session         

   - You will receive the list of group2 members names. The first name on that list will have their submission critiqued  first. The lastr name on the list will be the first person to present their critique  of the respective writing.  The second name from the bottom of the list  will be he second person to present their critique of the same piece, and so on.  When the first submission has been commented on by everyone in the group, the next piece is critiqued.  Therefore, the second piece to be critiqued would be the second name from the top.  Again, the person on the bottom of the list starts the commenting; and so on and so forth.
   - After everyone has given their comments on the first piece, the author can  respond. There mayh be some cross-discussion at that point.  And so it is for each piece that is critiqued.  (It may sound complicated, but it is really very simple. Don’t worry if you find this paragraph confusing, it will become clear to you when you are there.)
