Group 2 critiques for 2-26-19

1. Valerie's piece:

Wilderness, that dangerous, untamed void where all our emotional baggage yet
to fully process exists. It is not a friendly, welcoming place. I think that
in time many of us should try to shrink this void but there will always be
things there that are too difficult to address. Another excellent short poem
that reveals so much about its creator. I especially like the last stanza.

Joan's piece:

Another short piece that says so much. We all know that when you pass
someone in a hall of some familiar place and they ask "how are you doing?"
They don't really want to know in that moment. Consequently instead of
saying what we really have been doing (the list that many of us could
respond with) gets compressed into "a little writing." Which is why it is
truly "small talk." Sort of like texting (which I don't do) in spoken words.
I really enjoyed this piece. Bravo!

Leonard's piece:

So, I am pleased to see that another group member creates in a mythological
world. This is an engaging piece. There is much unspoken that is only hinted
at, which is an excellent technique for building interest and curiosity.
There are a few writing glitches i.e. leaving out a word or the spelling of
"lame" which I believe you meant "lamae with an acute sign over the e." In
any case I am eager to hear the rest of the story. If it moves into a
romantic interlude, Lord Forester and the Lady could both gain and lose from
his being made of wood. I will say no more.

Alice's piece:

A piece that artistically blends carefully created word pictures with floral
and family history. The creation of vivid word pictures, her love of
gardening and family history set in Indiana are components frequently
employed in Alice's writing which combine synergistically. As I have already
learned things from this piece, I have to ask, is there really any
property of Zinnias which is beneficial for eye problems? In my opinion this
piece nicely achieves what it was designed to do.
