The journey home
C by Brad Corallo
Word count 155

He appears out of the mist.
Striding across the desert with a flaming sword.
Legions follow in his wake,
his own children's crusade.
The hour has come to make an end
and vanquish all dark foes.
It is long over due.
His followers move forward
with determination and joy.
In his power they are certain!
There is no doubt!
Winding his horn, he sounds the final challenge.
They march, soldiers in his righteous army
resolute in their conviction.
It is the season of the shining one
who has come at last,
to once more lead his people
finely, On their long prophesied journey home.

NOTE: This piece is not about or in reference to any specific individual. It
is merely an illustration or vignette of the archetypal hero who appears in
the mythology of many ancient and modern cultures. For me this is a concept
of special interest.
