[Critique Group 2] revised suggestion

Since I wrote and responded to Kate’s questions, I did a little
experimenting. I wanted to see how long it would take me to deliver a critique. When
I simply allowed the computer to read my notes, I could just about get
under the time allotment, but when I listened to my notes and paraphrased from
them, it took way too long. So that leads me to 2 conclusions.
One is that we should run through our presentations to see just how long
they are going to take and try to pare them down, shooting for 4 minutes.
The second conclusion is that sending one’s notes is not as redundant as I
thought. I think they may be much more complete than the verbal
presentation. So I highly recommend that everyone send their written critiques to the
authors. You can either send them to their individual addresses or to all
the members of your group. We can learn from each other how to do a
critique and thereby how to write better via the critical eyes of our fellow
writers.
