Hi group 1,
This friendly reminder that tomorrow our pieces are due. Mine is below.

Mixed Signs
Nights are raw and days still chilly.
Yet jonquils think it’s past cold Winter,
pushing up their spikes through ice and sleet,
even earlier than the pert crocus,
normally seen as harbinger of Spring.
Geese bray, wing this way and then the other --
can’t make up their minds which way to fly.
Blue jays gorging on eggshells from my garden,
boning up on calcium for their ovum,
convinced of an early warm season.
Storms from out of the beleaguered West
bring hoary fiendish signals to the East.
They say not so fast. Winter is not past.
As I shiver through frigid weather,
like the geese, I know not which way it goes.
So, while I hunker down in my winter garb,
I will follow the signals of Spring.
