I think I disagree with about 80   percent of the premises in this piece.

But I’ll try toapproach this critique in a fair manner.

The first  premise is thatthere are two sides

With which one approaches the issue

One is in a moral way,

and the other  is froma what ever they want approach.

That polemic belief is obviously inncorect .

The relationship between income status and cost to thirdparties  is not straight forward.

Neither is the premise that is the  issue can be summed up in based on the costof providing or not providing for these medical needs

. Abstinance is the most successful form of birth control???

Your suggestion for providing  the facilities for a pregnant woman wouldseem to ignore the cause of pregnancy,

like rape, incest, emaculate conception, and any number ofcontributing factors.

Has the quality of life of a known flawed fetus

Entered into your thinking at all?

I thought all  thepopulation were  considered to be part of a society.

You make a line between society and the individual.

The Right Choice

by C. S. Boyd

After almost 50 years the Supreme Court ruled to strike downRowe vs Wade. This will not put an end to discussions on this highlycontroversial issue where one side is against abortion for moral reasons andthe other insists on the right to do whatever they want. The only commondenominator I see is that both sides expect insurance and social services topick up the tab.

According to my resources, one in four women in the UnitedStates will undergo the procedure before the age of 45. Approximately 50% ofthese will request the procedure again one or more times. Since the typicalpatient is a low-income single parent, the cost will be covered by tax payerdollars. Approximately two-thirds are considering the procedure because theprospective mother has been advised her baby will have a physical or mentaldefect. If this is the case, there is a strong possibility that futurepregnancies may present the same problem. The cost of such a baby can be up to13 times that of a normal child. This cost to the family and society must beconsidered.

Simple abstinence is the most successful method forpreventing pregnancy, but clearly the right to choose doesn’t include thisoption. For all couples, there are a variety of birth control methods availablethat can be used for both those of low income and those with religious concerns.

For those that do not take action on their own, society mustexercise the choice to prevent further expense. I propose that the couple besterilized as a part of the guidelines governing when and how the procedure maybe done. If they refuse, then the procedure is denied. DNA testing now makes itpossible to accurately identify the doner in the case that the female doesn'tknow which of her partners is responsible. Afterward, the individuals canindulge freely without creating a Burdon for society. This becomes even more ofa desirable action if the couple has produced a child that may have adisability. It is time we started using our right to choose to make responsiblerather than selfish decisions.

Some may consider this harsh, however, remember, the peoplehad the choice to deal with the issue in their own way, and chose to make it aproblem of society.

PRHE and the US center for disease control have been lookinginto the effects of toxins and contaminants in our air, water, and food. It hasbeen shown that the fetus comes in contact with these substances as a result ofthe female being exposed and the unborn child is more susceptible to theeffects than the adult system. If the baby is already suspected of having aphysical or mental disorder, these contaminants may work together to insure it.The expense of such babies can be up to 13 times the cost of a normal child.Side effects are reduced sperm count in males and an increase in physical andmental disorders.
