When Words Are a Barrier

 

When words stand against understanding, 

kindness is often elusive. 

The more words used, the further I fail 

to  enhance  mutual awareness. 

Vexation expands like boiling water, 

exceeding  its boundsto scar and maim. 

More words only increase the flame, 

adding to the damage and pain. 

 

In the night, a tiny, gentle touch 

begins the gentle process of healing.
