Hi group1,

Just a reminder that your piecews are due tomorrow. Also you will find my submission below.

----------

Elaeagnus

What is that floral scent that fills the air,

manifesting its presence within

sixty yards of its origin,

in the late autumn cooling breezes?

A more alluring aroma

you will probably never know.

In a back yard, hiding the north side

of an ancient corrugated shed,

is a plant termed a Russian olive tree,

though no olive ever graced its branches.

Otherwise called an Elaeagnus.

Puts out tiny white blossoms in fall

broadcasting, “Last chance to gather nectar

before the harsh winter gales do blow.”

Thirty years ago, I chanced upon this plant,

a small bush-like variety,

which was intended as a hedge,

and served me well in that purpose.

When I moved, I took two with me,

with their wonderful heavenly fragrance,

to ease me into the cold of winter.

Hi group1,
Just a reminder that tomorrow pieces are due. Plus you will also have my own submission.
See you in a week.
