[Critique Group 1] Sally's November

[Sally Rosenthal]

Hello, My submission will be late.  I am terribly sorry.  My grad school
roommate Diane and her husband Jay are seriously ill with COVID.  They are
67 and 70, both with multiple serious medical conditions.  Right now, they
are at home in Wilkes-Barre, PA with very little support.  Jay went to
northern NJ last week to visit his dying brother Jack in the hospital and
also spent time in Jack's house looking for necessary paperwork.  Jack has
since died either from leukemia or COVID.  Jay came home not knowing he was
positive and passed it on to Diane.  Diane is one of my oldest and closest
friends.  I had a few ideas for poems but nothing comes out when I sit down
at the computer.  I will try to put something together over the next few
days.  At the moment, I am just too numb to write.
