Hi group1,

Just reminding that your pieces are due today. My own sub. is below.

Where Would I Go?

 

Through olden  days of ancient times,

and those that are contemporary,

I have always been the wanderer --

running away to gain escape. 

 

Now my people have regained our home

that God once promised to us.

The land in which I currently live

is growing more unfriendly each day.

 

My enemies are massing once again.

Have I outlived my fragile welcome?

The time is nigh, but I cannot 

afford to cravenly move once more.

My age is suddenly upon me, 

and there is no place for me to go

where I would not be a burden. 

For  the  need is for strong  young men. 

 

The world is listing off its hinges. 

What is factual is made into farce. 

What is farce is made into fact,      

as does the world in which we dwell.

This country teeters on the brink. 

So where would I flee to find escape?

I will stay to fight with what I have.

My words alone will have to suffice. 

 

I lift my glass and say, “To Life.”
