How do you boil a human

when he does not seek to be?

You tell him it isn’t honest.

Make him think that it isn’t hot.


 


Make him believe he’s at the beach,

that the water is there for his comfort.

This is the reward he has earned.

All the while, turn up the dial.


 


When he complains about the throb,

let him perceive it is fake news.

Ask him if he knows anyone 

who’s actually burning up.

He may then mention Australia.

you may say quite in honest earnest,

they set the fires all by themselves.


 


Now you see what I am saying.

That’s right, now you’ve got it. It’s fake news.

Make sure there are all sorts of news.

The world is freezing, not heating.

Nobody is losing coastlines.


 


Failing that, tell him the truth,

and needs be, he’ll have to fix it.

He’ll have to give up his fortune.

Then ask him if he still wants out.

He’ll tell you it is all fake news.

Then he’ll turn up the heat himself.
