Hi, everyone, I totally lost track of time. This is a poem I wrote a year
ago, and I am almost positive I didn't send it to our group.

SILENT NIGHT

Edges of memories

from holidays past

Blur into one another,

Softening the sharpness

Of Longing and grief.

Perfection, illusory in hindsight,

Like Christmas card scenes,

Was never the reality.

The trappings of tinsel

And snow-covered fields

Masked the true messages

Of faith and family.

Much older now, I sit

And gratefully remember,

A cup of ginger tea

And a contented cat's purrs

As company on this tranquil night.

                                                                By Sally
