The Man Who Turned Into A Cat (280 words)
By Quinton McGrew and Marcia Wick
A man turned into a cat.
The cat chewed on a bone.
The bone was so hard, the cat lost his teeth.
When the teeth hit the floor, they turned into magic stones.
Then the cat turned to stone.
The magic stone cat flew up into a tree.
When the stone cat got down, he was the king of stones.
All the rocks and trees paraded after the king of stones.
A bad guy came and took away the cat's powers.
When the cat was just a cat again, the rocks and stones ran over him.
Then everything was normal.
That is, everything was normal until.
a dog chased the cat back up into the tree.
The tree he got in was a monster and the cat got in its mouth but he didn't
chew it.
The dog tried to fly up the tree, but his teeth were not magic and he had no
claws to climb like the cat so he barked and barked.
The cat used its claws to claw open the tree's lungs.
Suddenly, the tree could not breathe so it coughed and coughed and spit out
the cat which was caught by the dog.
The dog threw the cat so far away it landed in Zombie World.
The cat hid behind the biggest thing in Zombie World.
The dog chased the cat into Zombie World, but the Zombie's chased the dog
since the cat was hiding.
The Zombies gathered around the cat but the cat remembered he had magic
teeth and flew back to earth and became a normal human again.
The End
Just for fun! My six-year-old grandson and I narrated line by line, first
him and then me, to concoct this story. I enlarge the text to 24 pt. and
print out 2-3 sentences per page, then he illustrates it like a children's
book but now he can read the words once it's printed. Fun for us.maybe a
future author/illustrator in the making.
