It does have the classic older dectalk sound we all love, but here is the bug I found. Basically if you are using this addon, if you quit NVDA with it loaded, it doesn’t fully unload, so when you try to load JFW, and try to use something like tweesecake, it won’t work right. What you can do to get around this small bug is before you quit NVDA, switch to a different synth like the IBM one. Then you can quit NVDA, and things are fine.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><div><div style='border:none;border-top:solid #E1E1E1 1.0pt;padding:3.0pt 0in 0in 0in'><p class=MsoNormal><b><span style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif'>From:</span></b><span style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif'> Dectalk <<a href="mailto:dectalk-bounces@bluegrasspals.com">dectalk-bounces@bluegrasspals.com</a>> <b>On Behalf Of </b>Aksel Christoffersen<br><b>Sent:</b> Wednesday, June 18, 2025 4:24 AM<br><b>To:</b> 'DECtalk' <<a href="mailto:dectalk@bluegrasspals.com">dectalk@bluegrasspals.com</a>><br><b>Subject:</b> Re: [DECtalk] DECtalk 4.2 Software for Windows<o:p></o:p></span></p></div></div><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=DA style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:#1F497D'>Hi,<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=DA style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:#1F497D'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=DA style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:#1F497D'>I don’t think you can use Jayson’s build with screen readers, since that build only contains demonstration programs.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=DA style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:#1F497D'>You can, however, use Jake Gross’s build of DECtalk 4.99 for SAPI5.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=DA style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:#1F497D'><a href="https://datajake.braillescreen.net/tts/DECtalk%204.99/DECtalk%204.99%20SAPI5%20New.exe">https://datajake.braillescreen.net/tts/DECtalk%204.99/DECtalk%204.99%20SAPI5%20New.exe</a><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=DA style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:#1F497D'>He also has a build of DECtalk 4.99 as an NVDA-add-on, however it doesn’t appear to work with the newest NVDA 2025.1.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=DA style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:#1F497D'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=DA style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:#1F497D'>Kind regards:<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=DA style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:#1F497D'>Aksel<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=DA style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:#1F497D'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><div><div style='border:none;border-top:solid #B5C4DF 1.0pt;padding:3.0pt 0in 0in 0in'><p class=MsoNormal><b><span lang=DA style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Tahoma",sans-serif'>Fra:</span></b><span lang=DA style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Tahoma",sans-serif'> Dectalk [<a href="mailto:dectalk-bounces@bluegrasspals.com">mailto:dectalk-bounces@bluegrasspals.com</a>] <b>På vegne af </b><a href="mailto:jamminjerry@jjhof.com">jamminjerry@jjhof.com</a><br><b>Sendt:</b> 18. juni 2025 10:14<br><b>Til:</b> 'DECtalk'<br><b>Emne:</b> Re: [DECtalk] DECtalk 4.2 Software for Windows<o:p></o:p></span></p></div></div><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=DA><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif'>I haven’t figure out how you can use this with say JFW, or NVDA.
