[DECtalk] DECtalk Archive: Final Update

Hi,

I've finally got a, hopefully, permanent web host set up, that can be used
to access the DECtalk Archive from now on, with some amazing download speeds
I must say.

The archive is now available at:

https://dectalk.nu/

However, I'l still recommend connecting to the Resilio Sync folder, if you
intend to keep the content around for a longer period, to help keep the
archive alive.

Kind regards:

Aksel

Hi,

I feel like a final update about the DECtalk Archive is now in order.

The archive has been up and running for a little over three weeks now, with
about 35 people having been connected so far.

The link to the DECtalk Archive Resilio Sync folder is still:

https://link.resilio.com/#f=DECtalk%20Archive&sz=28E8&t=2&s=5SXCMCWMZ6U74JBL
VITW4UWEPTYMM47GAQISEMMPBJW4NNC7QW6Q&i=CQV6OGHXPQ7E3S6445YMS25WSIXEDA6OT&v=3
.0&a=2

However, the archive also now has a web host that automatically synchronizes
with the Resilio Sync folder, for anyone who might not want to use or
install Resilio Sync, thanks to @matt1211 at the AudioGames.net forum. The
link to the web host is:

https://thealvernaz.space/dectalk

I'm working on getting my own web host for the archive up and running, to
provide faster download speeds, but this is an excellent solution for now.

I have done extensive work in the archive to restore a lot of timestamps on
various files in the archive, for better historical preservation.

I've also added, among others, the following content:

- A much larger collection of synthesizer samples

- About 25 different NVDA Add-ons

- Microsoft TTS voices

- DECtalk USB software and drivers

- A lot of other related DECtalk stuff, including manuals, speak windows,
and software for hardware units

The Info file in the archive now also includes a changelog section, which
documents virtually every change I've made in the archive since it's revival
on march 3rd. You can use this to see what has been added, what has had
timestamps restored, and so on.

The info file also now contains a section with a list of every DECtalk
version currently in the archive, with links to the apropriate file(s) for
each version.

I'm not actively looking for things to update in the archive at the moment,
though I might still do small changes, if I find more files with an original
timestamp, or if anybody else submits content to be added to the archive.

Hopefully this can help to presserve DECtalk itself, along with everybody's
TTS audio creations for the ages.

Kind regards:

Aksel
