Hi,
For those who don't know, the DECtalk archive is a collection of TTS songs,
skits, and other TTS related audio content, a long with various TTS software
and hardware drivers. It was originally available at the dectalk.com
website, but is now accessed through a BitTorrent Sync folder. It mostly
contains TTS productions from the mid 2000s, but also some content from the
early to mid 2010s. The archive is currently at about 1.9 GB, however I
personally think it has a lot of potential to be expanded.
The Archive has now been unchanged for many years, with the newest file
being from 2016, and the current maintainer of the archive is seemingly not
replying to e-mails from people wanting to add their stuff to the archive.
However, I have throughout the years seen many people wanting to add new TTS
productions to the archive, and or expressing disapointment that the archive
is no longer being updated.
The question is, is the interest still there?
If it is, I'll be happy to create a new BitTorrent Sync folder with the
archive, and take over as the current maintainer of the archive. I could
then send out a key, which people could use to connect to the archive, and
contact me with requests to add stuff to the archive, that being TTS related
software, as well as all kinds of TTS songs, skits, and other productions.
What do people think?
Kind regards:
Aksel
