But there is a whole continuum of "wants" that different users
will have -- hence Karen's pitch for "variety".

A sighted user would likely want something that is intelligble
AND "easy on the ears".  I can *understand* an old Votrax
as I'm familiar with it's peculiarities.

But, I can't *listen* to one for any length of time.  My ears
"hurt"!

I'd be more receptive to listening to an intelligible Irish brogue
(no, I'm not fond of that accent!) than the Votrax's
"penetrates-twelve-inches-of-concrete" voices!

Would someone who didn't *need* your synthesizer *want* to use it?
Perhaps as an alternative output method?  Or, would it be cringe-worthy?
