[DECtalk] a Dectalk question from Snoopi

Ed, Thank you for finding all of the stuff such as phonemes for other
languages. As another list member said, perhaps you could upload the 100mb
of stuff to Dropbox?
Carlos, I posed your questions to Snoopi during my telephone conversation
with him tonight. He told me that voice and version won't matter. So using
version 4.3 and Paul is fine. He requests that the audio files be converted
to mp3 at 96kbps. If possible, he would like the audio to be stereo. I told
him that converting mono to stereo might be too much work for you. I think
audio generated automatically by Dectalk 4.3 is mono if I remember
correctly.

Two things I found the phoneme info all languages that he asked for.
Also depending how he wants to use this I can give you some advise on
setting as
because how it's done affects how it sounds. Also I would recimmend sat.exe
which I used
for recording tests. My is sick so I'll get this out asap but wife is first
priority

I have a database that I will try. This is from an actual dictionary, and
contains some words that may not be desired (I can see "'id al-fitr", which
may not be a super-popular one). However, it does contain 118894 words. I
will try and convert all these words to audio for you. I assume Paul is
acceptable (let me know if it is not). Also, any specific version? I don't
know whether one is easier than another. It may take some time, both because
I am busy and because that's a really large number of words. I should also
ask you if I should compress the resulting audio to any format? I could do
mp3, ogg, etc. and if you are attaching it to an android app the library
could be smaller.

A program which can automatically create wave files of each word in a
dictionary is preferable. Snoopi's goal is for Dectalk to speak via the wave
files. I don't have any word list databases. It is my understanding that
Snoopi wants as many words as possible.

It would be easy for me to write such a program, but I should first
ascertain how you would like it done. I assume that either you would just
like me to insert a word into the speak window? Or would you prefer me to
have a program automatically create a wave file of each word in a
dictionary? How large a database should I use? If you have one, I can just
use that, or I have some word lists of my own that could be effective. Any
of these can be easily written if you desire it, but I just need the program
spec so I know what to do.

Hi,
While I was speaking with Snoopi tonight, he asked me to post a question to
the listserv. Would it be possible to create a program which can copy all
words from a dictionary for use in Dectalk speak window? I refer to a normal
dictionary not the Dectalk dictionary. In such a program, individuals would
select a word from a list of icons. The word would then be copied into the
speak window and converted to a wave file for playback. Snoopi also told me
to specify that some people may think he's out of his mind. The reason
behind his request is that he would love for people to be able to use
Dectalk on Android. Such a program would enable people who use speech
synthesis for communication to communicate in Android via Dectalk.
