[DECtalk] Dectalk USB longer, better demo?

Hi again,

I am not involved in any way with the creation of this SAPI version,
although I'm an excited potential user. However, I do know this. Unless
something has changed or they have to include tons of extra stuff, the
DECtalk SAPI will be much, much smaller than any of the human sampled voices
out there. The reason is simple, DECtalk, as far as I know, never used any
actual sampled human speech. And audio samples take up lots more space than
code. Consider this if you will. Back in the days of the DECtalk PC card, if
you looked at the card you'd swear it had all the DECtalk stuff on it. I
mean, look at all those chips! But in truth, from how I understand it, the
actual software which made it do its thing was loaded onto the card by a
program called dt-load every time the computer booted. And I think the files
comprising the DECtalk software took probably less than a megabyte. So it's
going to be small. How small, I really don't know.
Jayson
